Lake Champlain Islands Area Info
The Champlain Islands of Vermont are five lakeside communities, inclusing Alburgh, North Hero, Isle Le Motte, Grand Isle and South Hero. The Islands are nestled into Lake Champlain between Vermont and New York. This is Grand Isle County, in the northwest corner of Vermont, close to the metro areas of Montreal to the north, and Burlington, Vermont’s largest city, to the south. The Islands are rural, and connected by bridges and causeways. The villages host small businesses based in an economy driven by tourism and value-added agriculture, with small tech companies and a chocolate manufacturer.
