St. Albans Town is home to multiple public and state parks along its shoreline including St. Albans Bay Park—home to the annual Bay Day Great Race, 4th of July festivities and a summertime Farmers’ Market. Another gem of the town is Killkare State Park, where you can pick up a ferry and stay and play at Burton Island State Park. This semi-remote park is free of cars and only reachable by boat, offering visitors a unique experience.
In addition to waterfront parks, the town is also home to Hard’ack Recreational Area; a hill known for its hiking, cross country and snowshoeing trails and a hillside where in winter everyone can enjoy downhill skiing, snowboarding, and sledding.
